A plan made for your dog
Tell us who your dog is and what you want to teach. We'll put together a step-by-step plan with an estimated length based on how hard the skill is for your breed and age, based on the consensus of positive-reinforcement trainers.
- Positive reinforcement only, no punishment
- Adapted to breed, age and size
- Delivered by email, 1-2 emails a week

Frequently asked questions
Is Learning Pups really free?
Yes. The training plan and the weekly newsletter are free. In the future some emails may include at most one or two sponsored or affiliate links, always clearly labelled; we never recommend aversive equipment.
How is the plan personalised?
You tell us your dog's breed (or, for a mixed breed, its weight), age and what you want to teach, in your own words or from a list of 20 skills. We look up how hard that skill is for that breed and age group and pace the email series to match: harder skills get more emails, and every plan ends with a consolidation email.
How many emails will I get?
A series of emails, usually one or two a week. The number depends on how difficult the skill is for your dog. The weekly newsletter is a separate, optional subscription and its box is never pre-ticked.
What training methods do you use?
Positive reinforcement only. We never suggest shock, prong or choke collars, leash jerks, 'dominance' or intimidation, in line with the AVSAB position on humane training.
Where does the training advice come from?
From a weighted consensus of trainer, kennel-club, shelter, veterinary and peer-reviewed sources. Each step lists the sources that state it, and our skills library shows every source and where they disagree.
Is AI involved?
Yes, and we say so. The research knowledge base was compiled with AI assistance from the cited sources, and plans are assembled automatically from it. A review by a certified positive-reinforcement trainer is pending. It is not veterinary advice.
What if my dog is not suited to the skill I asked for?
If a skill is not a good fit for your dog's breed, age or body type (for example impact agility for a growing puppy, or rolling for long-backed breeds), we explain why and propose a safer alternative. You can switch or keep your skill with the safe version.
Can you help with aggression, fear or separation panic?
No. Those need a professional. For growling, snapping or biting, resource guarding, panic when alone, phobias, pain or sudden behaviour changes, see your vet first and then a certified behaviourist. Normal puppy mouthing and play biting is different: our puppy-biting plan covers it and lists the warning signs that mean you should see a professional.
How do I unsubscribe?
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
